Centrax Corporation has launched a new division that will focus on delivering training and marketing programs in 3D virtual spaces such as Second Life. “3D virtual environments such as Second Life will be the next wave of Internet innovation. Centrax is leveraging its award winning 3D and programming departments to develop “realistic” virtual environments for its clients. One project is developing an evacuation training program for Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. The program will feature a virtual replica of the CMH Hospital Campus with hospital staff trainees’ avatars ( 3D representations of the person who is logged into Second Life) ” evacuating patients out of the building when an alarm event occurs. This is a very exciting project since it has numerous applications such as safety training. The team at www.centraxsecondlife.com has also developed Second Life locations for the Learning Leaders Exchange, www.eleanringforkids.com, and Motorola.
